KompoZer

KompoZer is a simple and straightforward solution for web authoring. You can think of this piece of software as a simplified and free version of Adobe Dreamweaver. Its main advantage is the fact that you don't need any advanced knowledge or skills to use it. You can build an entire website, from start to finish, just by clicking and dragging your contents into place, without typing a single line of code.

KompoZer is offered completely free of charge, without any hidden fees or restrictions. It comes in a small package and it doesn't take long to install it. The hardware requirements are modest and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services.

As previously suggested, KompoZer is accessible to inexperienced users, even if they need a minute or two to study some of its options. Web pages can be created and tweaked in the largest area of the user interface. A site manager, located on the left side of the window, will help you insert images, text and other contents, from your local folder, without any effort.

If you target one or more local folders in the site manager, their contained files will show up in a list and you will be able to just click them and drag them to the main editing area to insert them. Resizing pictures can be done on a separate window, by specifying exact dimensions or by simply clicking and dragging their corners in the editing area. It is also possible to insert tables, anchors, links, forms and many other elements, which can give your website a professional look.

You may click a series of tabs, beneath the editing area, if you wish to reveal HTML tags or if you want to see the page's source code. When your work is complete, you can preview it on your default web browser or publish it immediately.
